washington, much of northern virginia and western maryland. they are going to stay wet here throughout the entire day. all of this coming from a front that's producing all this rain that's moving in and advancing, getting a little bit heavier now just southeast of charleston, west virginia. that's now moving into the far southeastern portions of west virginia. that's going to eventually move into the southern shenandoah valley in about another two hours or so, and then closer to the metro area, that looks like that's going to happen around 3:00 this afternoon. ahead of that, we've got mild and muggy air. temperatures around 70 degrees much of the region. hour by hour by 7:00 a.m., still cloudy. rain west of the metro area. a few scattered sprinkles around the immediate metro area. we'll be hovering near 70. some of those showers beginning to move in. then quickly after that, by 3:00 or so, we could have some of those storms producing those damaging winds that might bring down power lines and tree limbs. unfortunately, that risk extends into this evening. your first 4 traffic now with d

churches came out to support the mosque. a mosque in virginia was vandalized in what's being called a hate crime. the council on islamic relations says the community needs to be vigilant and offered a $1,000 reward for information in the falls church cases. >> this community, christian, muslim, buddhist. we are one, and we will not tolerate any crime against any of our communities. >> reporter: as a result of the vandalism, fairfax county police say they're stepping up patrols in the area, and they're taking additional security measures though they won't say what those measures are. darcie spencer, news 4. >>> people in prince georges county, got a lesson in self-defense today after the murder of a teen last month. the full circle martial arts academy gave the demonstration in springdale. 17-year-old amber stanley was an honor role student at the school. she was shot to death in her kettering home on august 23rd. people who attended today were asked to donate to the amber stanley fund to help the family with expenses. police are still searching for suspects in stanley's murder. >>> a softb

. so are you north carolina and nev nev and florida, and ohio, and virginia. the eight states that are being targeted in the ad campaign, an ad campaign so big the campaign describes it as a carpet bombing. and this list of states, the states you see marked on the map right here, that is pretty much where the election is going to be fought from here on out. this map, you will notice, doesn't include all of the places we have been thinking about and talking about as swing states. they're not placing ads in michigan, wisconsin, or pennsylvania. they have pulled their ads from michigan. romney is trailing in michigan by as much as seven points there. the pro romney pac money has dropped out of pennsylvania where romney is also behind in the polls. the romney campaign and the pacs together, of course, have more money than god and mick jagger combined, so they could still decide to spend money wherever, whenever. this almost have infinite resources in terms of ad dollars in this campaign season. unless something changes in their strategy, it looks like wisconsin and michigan and pe
